What we are fighting for
Animal testing for household products
Across Europe, countless animals such as rabbits, hamsters, rats and mice continue to suffer and die in household product testing. They are injected, gassed, force-fed and killed to test the ingredients that go into everyday household products such as washing up liquid, air fresheners and dishwasher tablets.
Global dogs campaign
Across the UK, thousands of dogs are trapped in laboratories. They live in small cages, which restrict their movement, and are often not allowed outside.
Dogs in UK laboratories are most commonly used in ‘poisoning’ or toxicity tests, where they are force-fed or injected with drugs, pesticides and weed killer. Mothers have their pups taken from them at just weeks old.
An end to cruel cosmetics
Traditionally, animals have been used in painful tests to demonstrate that cosmetics are effective and safe to use. Yet transferring the results of animal tests to humans has proven to be problematic and misleading in many cases.
Instead, safety can be assured by using approved tests that do not use animals, and by sticking to the many combinations of existing ingredients that have already been established as safe for human use.
How we give
For every £3 we make we give £1 to Cruelty-Free International
Each country has a different starting point. Some have an extensive existing animal testing system with many vested interests but are open to considering a different direction. Others are still developing safety testing and research and are open to the best new approaches. Cruelty-Free International constructively with politicians and regulators to give genuine hope for change for animals. As a result, we dedicate at least one-third of our annual net profits to Cruelty-Free International. You can learn more by clicking the button below.
